The company was incorporated on 30th March 1995 having its registered office located at Room No. 701, 7th Floor, Sidco Global Tower, CN 8/2, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700091, West Bengal, India.

The company specializes in generation, transmission, distribution, purchase, sale and supply of electric power or any other energy from conventional/non-conventional energy by Bio-Mass, Hydro, Thermal, Gas, Air, Diesel Oil or through renewable energy sources. The company is registered with the Registrar of Companies Kolkata I, holding the Corporate Identification Number (CIN) U40100WB1995PTC070451 with Authorised share capital of INR 1,00,00,000/- (Indian Rupees One Crores Only) and its Paid-up capital of INR 10,62,000/- (Indian Rupees Ten Lakhs Sixty-Two Thousand Only). The company currently has two Directors namely Mr. Sanjay Gupta and Mrs. Divya Dube.

On an application filed by SREI Equipment Finance Limited under Section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, the Hon’ble National Company Law Tribunal, Division Bench, Court No. I, Kolkata has vide its Order dated 14.05.2026 in C.P. (IB) No. 67/KB/2025 directed initiation of Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process of Rankini Power Generation Private Limited and appointed Mr. Bijay Murmuria, an Insolvency Professional registered with IBBI having registration number IBBI/IPA-001/IP-N00007/2016-2017/10026 as the Interim Resolution Professional.
